Long drive from Barking Sands to Kapa`a -- closer to 90 minutes or more.
The good news is, you'll be driving _against_ the afternoon commute traffic. Take your time, enjoy the views. We'll keep the wine chilled for you!

90 minutes? Does that include a stop at The Shrimp Station?
OK, I'm bringing 3-4 bottles of "whine" (Budbrew), plastic glasses (I don't think they would appreciate real glass around the pool area), and some Shrimp Station goodies.
I plan to leave Barking Sands around Noon and just meander my way to Kappa, maybe taking in a snorkel or two.

B'man,
Make it 2 hrs because you'll want to stop by Da Booze Shop in Waimea!
Color me jealous...but since it's on Kauai, it will probably be raining, lotta mosquitos, chickens, and rude help that will ruin your GTG. O
Oh, and you're right..."No glass around the pool please".
253!

Hey Kal, the subject is "wine", not "whining"!!
Speaking of wine, there's a great little wine shop in Puhi -- right across the highway from the community college. The owner is quite knowledgable and helpful. We'd fallen in love with a Selbach Reisling while dining at A Pacific Cafe, and the Puhi wine shop was recommended.
Interestingly enough, the Princeville Foodland now carries it, too (at about $5 less per bottle...yay!), as part of their newly-expanded wine section.

billy,
I start feeling better when my countdown is less than my weight. At 253, I'm getting pretty darn close! \

Auntie M-There was a post about digital photography on Kauai. Maybe I can send you guys a photograph of my fave "digit" for the GTG? O
As for wine, I thought Safeway, K'mart and Wal Mart had a good selection and decent prices.
I'2-Dunno if you want to try and bring some Lobster ravs or seafood cigs from Coconuts but I bet Scotty's BBQ travels well.
Safeway has a lotta to good stuff..like the BIG hoagies. Since you'll be having wine, what about a cheese board and some apples?
We had one friend bring a big old order of fresh sashimi from that fish market near the hospital/Wal Mart to share with other bar patrons.
Onoliscious!
The Sand Bar is still being remodeled but it should be re-opened by then....knock on koa....so I expect a lot of pics.

You know guys...as long as this thread is you would think more than 5 couples will be getting together for this event.
Bill, just call the Pono Market and give them you credit card #...I will pick up the chicken for you! That way you will feel that you are a BEEEEEG part of the GTG.
Oh my goodness, I almost forgot to tell you how many more days, but guess you must know by now!!! Hot damn, I can't wait!

Kal, there you go dreaming again!
I laughed when I saw your post...we were just discussing "the finger" at lunch as we had our Wendy's chili!!!!!!!!
And since you are a bicycler, just saw Lance Armstrong this morning. We went to the start of the 4th stage of the Tour De Georgia. They are headed across the mountain near our abode right about now!
