Kauai Bound in 9 Days!

This trip has been in the works for weeks, but I'm finally starting to get the excitement bug! We've been to Maui twice, never to Kauai. We're staying on the North Shore.

We have very little "planned" with the exception of a helicopter tour with Jack Harter (doors OFF!! Yikes!). Not having a daily itinerary is a little unusual for me. I'm thinking this is the way to go for laid back Kauai? Let the adventure happen as it may? We'll snorkle and explore the beaches. Hit the road for some scenic photo ops. Picnic and sunset/sunrise watch. This time no boat tours or luaus are planned.

Any last minute advice? Restaurants we shouldn't miss that need reservations? What are your Kauai trip highlights?

I'll let you hear all about our trip on our return!! WOOOOHOOOOO!!!

Lot's of good hiking and snorkeling on the north shore. For snorkeling, check Ke'e Beach, Tunnels and Hideaway Beach. All are very good. Another tip is to go early to Hideaway, parking is very very limited. Ke'e fills up fast too. Make sure you leave nothing of value in your car at Ke'e. In high surf conditions, Tunnels maybe the only safe swim.

Enjoy

There really aren't any restaurants on Kauai that fall in the "don't miss" category.

There are no super restaurants but some of the restaurants I liked

Roy's
Hukilau Lani
Hanalei Gourmet
Hanalei Dolphin (fish market, get the sushi rolls).
Puka Dog
The Beach House was good when I was first there but some have indicated that it has gone down hill.
