You absolutely do not have to be very fit to do the big room tour.

I have been on the big room tour 3 times and the Rotunda/Throne Room tour 6 or 7 times. I much prefer the Rotunda/Throne Room tour.

If you haven't been, I don't think it matters which tour you do as long as you see the caverns, one or the other. They are absolutely amazing.
