Kahana Beach Condos closed--help!

I just received a phone call that the Kahana Beach Condos we were going to stay at are closed. We leave Monday! Please help!
We would like an ocean front condo for under $100 per night. Napili Bay and Noelani Condos are some possibilities, but I am concerned about the lack of AC. How hot is it at night at the end of May? Are there any other suggested properties? We have an entertainment card. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

Nancy,

I'd go for Napili Bay. It's the coolest part of Maui, and I don't think you'd have any problem with it being too hot this time of year, even in the daytime. I think when you see the beach at Napili Bay, you'll be happy you stayed there, too! It's one of the nicest in the Islands and you're right next door to the Kapalua Bay, which is heaven. I don't think you'd be at all disappointed. Be sure to let us know how it all turns out.

Aloha,

Lani

Nancy,
I had reservations there in June and was alerted to this problem by a post here about 2 weeks ago. When I called the KBCs they said they were eventually going to relocate their reservations into nearby properties, so are you sure they won't do this for you? It's a joke that they waited this long to call you since they've known for at least a month. I was in the same boat and concerned about A/C but could not fond anything comparable at the same price. I just bit the bullet and paid more at Maui Kaanapali Villas for a garden view.
One hint - I like to use the American Airlines vacation site to check out any properties that they handle. You can go through the reservation process for each hotel and bring up a chart that shows availablity of each room type for the days in question.

We stayed at the Noelani in April, we were very please with it. The Napili Bay does have a better beach front location however. The condo we rented at Noelani was on the 3rd and 4th floor and we did not need air conditioning, there are always trade winds blowing and the unit never got hot. The units have good cross ventilation and ceiling fans. The views from our lanais was great and the grounds were immaculate. I don't think you'll go wrong at either location.

Hi Nancy,
We are going to Maui's Napili area next week. We booked Napili Bay. One bedroom condo for $199 ($175 for 2 and additional $12 per person). It is beachfront. I know this is higher than your price. They do have studio unit for cheaper which is garden view. Also, around Napili, there are the Napili Kai (way too pricey for us), Napili Surf, Napili Shores, Napili Point, Napili Hale (no pool here). All are on the beach at Napili Bay with the exception of Napili Point where you need to walk to the beach. Do a search on the net to find out number to call. I know that a week ago Napili Shores does not have Entertainment rate available for May arrival. It's worth a try to call it (just in case something opens up),or the others.
If I am not mistaken, the Napili condos are more pricey than Kihei due to its location eventhough you get simple accommodations (2 story condo instead of high rise).

Good luck,
Cathy

Nancy,

I wouldn't say that Napili Bay is more expensive than Kihei, really, certainly not by very much. Kihei has the fabulous Kamaole I, II and III Beaches so the condos right on or near those beaches have excellent locations, even though Kihei is way overbuilt. Now, Napili Kai Beach Club is more expensive but most of the others are not, I think. I think you'd be perfectly happy in Kihei - I believe they have more condos that accept the Entertainment Card (Kamaole Sands, Mana Kai Maui, Maui Coast, etc.) I'd check it out. This time of year, you should not have a problem finding something. Best of luck!

Sorry, I meant to say we booked our condo with Napili Sunset.
