Kaanapali Area Hotel

I've read a lot of posts concerning the Kaanapali resorts, but most are concerning honeymooners or family vacations for a week or more. I am going to Maui next month for a long weekend (4 days , 4 nights) to check things out for my wedding in May. We will be spending most of our time doing wedding planning activities, with some minor tourism and relaxation along the way. There will be four of us going, myself (25), my mother (47), my sister (21) and my grandmother (69). We would like to stay in a decent hotel, but nothing too fancy or expensive. Since this is mostly a "business" trip, we are trying to save some money, but don't want to be stuck anywhere dirty or rundown. Any suggestions?

Go to www.kaanapalibeachhotel.com The Kaanapali Beach Hotel.
It is by far the most inexpensive hotel right on the Kaanapali strip,(the only place to be IMHO) not at all luxurious, but clean, very nice for the money and in an excellent location. Stayed there in March, of course the other hotels will make you jealous, but they come with a much bigger pricetag. Ask for a renovated room.

We stayed at the kanapali beach hotel. They have a band that plays there everynite in the back of the hotel and it is really Hawaiian touch. Nice soft music and the hotel is nice, not the Ritz but nice.

Lia: I have to go along with all posts recommending Kaanapali Beach...stayed there for a week in 1999. Great value, lots of entertainment, restaurant & shopping and the grounds alone make you feel like you're in paradise, but let's not forget that the water is only a few feet away. Enjoy!!
