The implication about not being able to take the square root of an IQ was that it was not possible because the IQ was negative.
I suppose you can with a lot of imagination.
This whole exchange reminds me of a graduate student who went to another university from Clemson. (I was at the other university.) He was about as uncouth as they come. He once made fun of a student who was having an epileptic seizure in his class.
He made also made a statement that was at once intended to be boastful as well as degrading. He said that when he transferred from Clemson, he raised the IQ of both institutions. I suggested that enrolling at my school had the effect of putting his IQ through the absolute value function -- divided by 2.

Ok, I got it Al, but I like the Cah Tawk Guys, Click and Clack's solution "It only works if the answer is two."
Although you can always make soyburgers out of the entire argument if you use e.
And if e doesn't equal a squared emcee, then is it the same as saying I eat what I see?

Hey Al, at the risk of being kicked out of the Fodor's USA Idiots board roundtable, I would add that you can still take square roots of negative numbers.
And I believe that currently many relativistic astrophysicists believe that antimatter and antigalaxies may exist in such a manner that perhaps having a highly negative IQ, in an anti-universe sense, may actually be a desirable thing! Careful with those unwitting compliments!

Hey [email protected]! I find that when I lose my shoe, it helps to take the sock off as well. That way, my sock doesn't get dirty, and it won't get a hole in it. I hope this information helps. Have a great time!
