Joe's Shanghai
We are taking kids to NYC and arriving Jan 1 for 3 nights. Staying in E 5Os. On Jan 1 we land around 10 so was planning to go to Joe's Shanghai for brunch.
I know there is one in Chinatown and another in the E 50's. Is one better than the other?
thanks in advance...

Take a look at Kung Fu on 8th Avenue in the theatre district; a branch of the one in Flushing that I like. Order the xlb and the kaufu, and any other Shanghai dishes. Not that I have only been to Flushing but have heard that while this branch is not as good, it is pretty good.....
Did not know of Joe's in midtown, either.

Go to the one in midtown, more expensive and fewer dumplings in the order but it is the only Joe's Shanghai with an A rating from the NYC Dept of Health which conducts inspections. All restaurants are supposed to post the ratings where you can see it from the street, and you can read each inspection online.
