JFK storage?

I'm trying to find out whether there are any lockers of facilities for storing luggage at JFK. My son will be spending a few days in NYC before going on to a semester in Europe, and would like a place to keep his luggage while in NY.

Thanks for any info!

No there is nowhere to store it at JFK, he will have to take it with him.

Actually there is now luggage storage in terminals 1 & 4 but there's a daily charge per bag. Here's what's listed on this page
http://www.nyc.com/visitor_guide/Lug...editorial.aspx

"At the Terminal 4 Arrivals area, the facility operates 24 hours per day, and charges $4.00 to $16.00 per day depending on the size of your luggage. For more information, phone (718) 751-4020. The facility in Terminal 1, located near Alitalia and Olympic Airlines in the Arrivals area, operates from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, also charges $4.00 to $16.00 per day depending on the size of your luggage. For more information, phone (718) 751-2947."

Considering today's security news, you might want to double check whether it's still available, just before his travel dates.

That's great news about the JFK storage!

Elizrg: if your son will be spending a FEW days in NYC, why does he not just bring the luggage to where he is staying?

To answer rb's question, he'll be dividing his time between college student friends' dorms -- not a lot of space, & on the move a lot. But... after today's news, we're not counting on airport storage or easy access to anything at the airport for that matter.
