JFK-SFO-KOA Is an hour enough time between transfers/same airline

Is an hour enough time to transfer from the JFK-SFO flight to the SFO-KOA flight in SFO(landing late afternoon in SFO)? Flying late may/early june, same carrier for all legs of the trip(booked as one ticket). Thanks.

Well if it's booked as one ticket then if you don;t make the flight the airline has to get you on the next flight out.

Will you make it? Who knows?

Will the incoming flight be on time? (Have you checked the on time record?)

Will you have a small enough carry-on that you can gallop through the airport if necessary?

Have you checked to see if the flights (at least now) are on nearby gates?

I would never risk that short a transfer time - but then I don;t like taking risks with flights.

Thanks for the input. I was hoping someone had flown this route and could weigh in. I know anything can happen on any given day etc, but if someone has done domestic transfers at SFO at that time of year that input would be great. Thanks.

There is nothing special about SFO-KOA flight. You could just as well be flying JFK-SFO-LAX and the q&a would be the same. I'm assuming this is on UAL. Connecting at SFO really isn't a problem. Whatever you decide to put in checked bags, be sure you have enough in your carryon to get you through the 1st 24hrs - that's just good travel advice in general.

If your incoming flight is on time then I see no problems with 1hr connection UAL at SFO. Morning departures out of JFK aren't usually an issue either - it's late afternoon thunderstorms that can be more disruptive to air traffic control.

Weather in June is forecast to be clear and sunny in the afternoon, so there should be no issues there.
