JFK Airport - Overnight Only - Best Hotel Option?
We will be arriving JFK at 3:40 pm on a Sunday, after having been traveling since 5:00 that morning and need a hotel to overnight in.
Not interested in sightseeing, etc., just sleeping in and relaxing in preparation for our 9:30 pm flight overseas Monday night. Have read such horror stories of the JFK airport hotels, is there another option that is affordable (i.e. under $200 total)? Probably not, but do any area hotels offer late check out, by chance?
Would prefer something with shuttle service so we don't have to deal with transporation issues, but open to any suggestion. We normally stay in 2-3**hotels in Europe and this level of service suits us fine if this gives an idea of what we are after.
For our needs, would Priceline be the best bet? Thanks for any and all suggestions

Any one of the following should fit the bill:
Doubletree Hotel JFK - restaurant and lounge on premises
Hampton Inn JFK - no restaurant/lounge, just a breakfast room
Hilton Garden Inn JFK - I believe they may have a restaurant
All three run a free shuttle. The rates should be ~$200 per night.

I don't know if Priceline is a good idea. Check which hotels they use on biddingfortravel.com or betterbidding.com and then cross reference reviews on tripadvisor.
I wrote on your other thread if you don't want to stay at a JFK hotel, the Pan American in Queens on Queens Blvd. (and within a walk of a few restaurants) has a free shuttle and will be less than $150.
panamhotel.com
Very basic, about 30 mins from the airport but cheap and cheerful.

On the regular PL listing, there are two 3* hotels offered - Doubletree and Crown Plaza, both for over $200.
On BFT, the same ones are listed for JFK 3*, but there have not been any recent reports of acceptances.
It seems to me that if you know how to bid, you could start bidding at $90 and go up. I suspect that you would be happily surprised.
