Jacksonville/Vilano Beach Area
Was wondering if anyone has any experience or knowledge of the "Seawatch of Vilano" condos? We are visiting our son end of June, who recently bought house in Jacksonville Beach, but still in process of remodeling,so we thought we would stay in a condo and make a vacation of it since we have never been to this area. He thought we would like Vilano/Ponte Vedra since it will still be close to his home, but finding that staying on Ponte Vedra pricier than going to the Caribbean. We are planning a fishing excursion, laying on the beach while son is at work, and doing some sightseeing in St. Augustine. This place seems reasonable and nice according to website and was wondering if there is a catch? Poor beach, location?

I have never heard of Vilano.
Ponte Vedra is very expensive, did you check the Hampton Inn there? there are a lot of Inns and nice places in St Augustine and there is also a Hampton Inn in Jax Beach.
Did you look into the Sea Turtle Inn ? in Atlantic Beach..

Thanks for the replies. Actually the condo is gone, the owner forgot to update the calendar on VRBO, which brings me to my next question, Is anyone familiar with Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra? The condos seem fairly reasonable, but was wondering if they charge extra fee for the use of the pool/facilities since it is a country club. Also, how is it laid out? Seems like a huge property and not sure if all condos are near the water. Maybe I should post this separately?
Thanks for any information.

I went to school in St. Augustine and worked at Vilano Beach during college. All of this is a short drive from Ponte Vedra. Vilano Beach has a public beach access but is mostly private beach lined with houses along A1A. The public beach access appeared to be under construction as recently as early May.
I'm not sure about the condos in Ponte Vedra, but that is a wonderful area, I doubt you'll be disappointed.
