Jackson Hole again!
I hate to do this because I know how many times requests have been made for Jackson Hole information (I've loved reading them because my son and daughter-in-law worked and met there and my husband and I and children were there years ago camping in the summer), but now I find myself in need of some quick information.
We would like to stay there for a couple of nights over the Christmas holidays. I'm looking for recommendations for someplace that 5 adults and one baby could stay. We don't want a Motel 6 type of place, but we can't afford the upscale resorts either. We'd like someplace with some local character. We don't mind sharing a cabin which might be more economical. I've checked the websites that have been recommended here before and, of course, they all look WONDERFUL, but I've researched and traveled enough to know good advertising/marketing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Don't worry... LOVE to talk about da' Hole!
Wife and I honeymooned in '94 at Camp Creek Inn... about 16 miles south of Jackson in Hoback Junction. About 7 "A-frame" style cabins just off the main road accross the street from a dude ranch. The restaurant/dining room and lounge are very western in character, yet the meals are pretty upscale and draws in the locals. (You can tell the real cowboys from the tourists.) Being just off the road, you do see and hear some traffic, though. But I wonder how the development from town has done in 6 years?
Last time we were in town was in '99 but we stayed up in Yellowstone and enjoyed the lodges (Old Faithful Snowlodge and Mammoth), but wished we could escape the crowd and get back there -- maybe this May.
Website is www.camp-creek-inn.com, but no prices are listed.
Well, that's my 2 cents.

A few years ago we stayed at the Cowboy Village. It was brand new at the time. Each unit is modeled after a log cabin and has two bedrooms and a kitchen. They all had porches and grills. It was very clean, had all the conveniences and was very reasonable by Jackson standards. It was perfect for our family of five and very centrally located.

Any comments/suggestions on the following places?
Antler Inn, 49er Inn and Suites, Elkcountry Inn, Cowboy Village (I've gotten feedback on this, but the website doesn't seem to indicate that they operate in the winter), and Wagon Wheel Village.
I have some information on the rooms and rates, but first hand impressions would be great.
We're a family of five, plus a baby. We don't mind sharing space as long as it's not TOO cramped.
Thanks again.
