Itinerary for La Jolla 2.5 days
My daughter has never been to La Jolla and we have 2.5 days there. Should we spoend anytime in San Diego close to La Jolla? Any suggestions about what to see in a short amount of time or do we spend the time in La Jolla and go to Coronao

In answer to your question, yes, you should spend a lot of your time seeing the many sights in San Diego outside of La Jolla. (La Jolla is actually within the San Diego City limits.) Here's what San Diego has to offer.

You should enjoy walking around the village in La Jolla - but depending on your daughter's age - you both might also enjoy also seeing the Gaslamp/downtown, Old Town, the Zoo or the Wild Animal Park/Safari Park whatever now - and also - driving over the beautiful bridge to bucolic Coronado.
Sea World is also an option if you like that sort of thing.
And the Museums in Balboa Park are very interesting. see:

I am a little confused - are you going to be in La Jolla for both days and want to know what to do in and around La Jolla and San Diego while staying there? Or are you trying to decided between staying in La Jolla or Coronado?
