Is the airfare going to drop?

Actually, purpletulip, I haven't done the research for your dates but it seems to me that I saw some pretty good rates that expired around June 8th. Have you checked around (travelzoo, sidestep, aloha and hawaiian air websites directly)? I need to travel near the end of June or sometime in July so I know my rates would be higher than what you should be able to get.

Pupletulip, I decided to book last night through Hotwire. I'm taking my two kids on this trip, so I needed to keep it as cheap as possible. It was scary to click the purchase button since I didn't know what I'd get (esp. traveling with kids), but I figured beggars can't be choosers. In the past I've gotten really early flight times and sometimes kind of long layovers. I got lucky this time, though. We depart both times at 9-9:30 and only have 1-1 1/2 layovers in Maui. Sometimes you just have to go for it and hope the surprise is a good one. I couldn't have afforded to do it any other way. Prices could go down, but I can live with that. I'd kick myself if they went up. Let me know how your booking turns out.

I just got airfare from Colorado Springs to Honolulu by calling United this morning and using the entertainment book coupons. $575.00 per person - from Denver it was nearly $800.00. Look at the smaller airports nearby. From there we are doing Aloha to the Big Island and then Kauai for a total of a little over 800.00. Much better than anything I've been able to find since I started looking after Christmas. Then United will guarantee its their lowest price or give me a credit to use in the next year. This is a good deal from here I believe.

JohnD, not at all. I'm booked with AlohaAirlines. I checked yesterday, and what looked like might be the same flight offered through Hotwire went up again, but just slightly. The same flight through AA directly is much more, of course.
Hapata, It sounds like you got a nice deal. Congrats!

Holly, I too hesitate to use Hotwire/Priceline, afraid of the wakcy scheudle I might get. But you were very lucky on your bid!
I tried another Hawaiian agency and got $385 of ATA. I am still not ready to jump yet. I think I may want to wait for two more weeks and bet on my luck
.
Ashley24, try this number of Air and Sea Travel Center, 808-951-9800. My friend recommended it to me, it is in HI.

The $410 was quoted by a Hawaiian travel agency.
