I've never heard of the place, but there is a huge Sawgrass Mills mall outside Ft. Lauderdale -- to the west. I suspect that is the one you are talking about.
If you like outlets, it would be hard to beat. Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus, and others have major outlets there as well as all the usuals and a lot of others. It is gigantic. There are also some major restaurants there including a Wolfgang Puck's, Cheesecake Factory, and RainForest Cafe.

If you're looking for a high-end shopping experience, hit Bal Harbour Shops in Miami Beach. For an outlet mall trip, I suppose Sawgrass Mills (indeed outside Ft. Lauderdale) would be great. Nordstrom Rack is always a huge disappointment for me, however-- at least in California, their selection of men's clothing is worse than Mervyn's.

You know what, I think that all of this nonsense is being said out there because Chanel, Gucci, Prada, and all of those other expensive brands are getting robbed and so theyre trying to scare everyone by saying that this all funds terrorism.

Joanna- the Swap Shop in Ft. Lauderdale might be what you are looking for:

It is not that far away from Sawgrass Mills so you could probably do both in one full day of power shopping......

Sure, it's a "known place" but the vendors are flea market styel and the turnover/anonymity can be quite a protection. If a vendor gets caught, the venue is not usually held liable unless their cooperation/knowledge can be proven.

We weren't at all impressed with Sawgrass Mills. We have an outlet complex like that near Phila called Franklin Mills. A lot of the stores are NOT outlets, even if they say they are. I found Levis clothes for my sons when they were younger cheaper at Ross and Marshalls than I did at the Levis "outlet".
If you like huge malls swarming with people, you'll love it.

My wife drags me to saw grass everytime we go to florida. It is so large. I usually sit on the benches outside the stores while she shops. There are alot of stores there and occasionally you can get a good bargain.
