Is Myrtle Beach, SC a good option for new years weekend?

I just learnt that we have a 4 day weekend for this new year. So considering options.. Is Myrtle Beach usually cold like now, or is it because of the "Siberian Express"?

Generally how are things over the new years weekend?

Thanks in advance for your response

I wouldn't do either, but I dislike both places!! LOL

As for weather, you never know. We are freezing right now but I can remember many a christmas day of 50-60* (recall Christmas better 'cause it means more!!).

Your chances it will be pleasant are good, I think--you aren't gonna be swimming.

Be helpful to know:

where you are located

how you plan to travel (car; air)

any budget constraints.

I know several places that will NOT be "cold" and where you CAN swim at that time of year. You can "know" them, too, with a little more info.

Look just south of MB--Litchfield, Pawley's. You can get to the bright lights of MB and enjoy some lovely quiet.
Really, the weather can be very lovely. OR cold.

How about Hilton Head Island! I think I can do that as well and I suppose that will be warmer that MB?

I imagine Hilton Head might be a couple of degrees warmer, not enough to make a big difference in your activities, or your comfort.

It will add a number of hours to your overall trip and not anything to what you might enjoy, IMO.

Why not go to Charleston or somewhere "neat".

You may prefer to drive BUT you can probably get a cheap N/S flight from DCA to Fort Lauderdale and hang out on the beach in front of my house. It will BE warmer than anywhere in South Carolina I can almost guarantee that one.

Actually you could drive HERE (I've done it many times from there) but for four days it isn't worth it.

Happy New Year.
