Is Labor Day Weekend crowded in Chicago?

Is it a good idea to get aquarium tickets in advance? That Easy pass seems a good deal if you want to visit more than two attractions per day but if you don't it seems expensive. Opinons?

thorspecken- I think the kids are scheduled to go back to school the day after Labor Day. (here in the south, they start sooner- but Chicago has always started after Labor Day).

So, it may be crowded that weekend. However, it's not like they limit the number of aquarium tickets they sell. You shouldn't have any problem. I always suggest going right as they open, or when everyone else is at lunch. You will love the Shedd Aquarium. And hopely you will also get to the incredible Adler Planetarium and the world-reknowned Field Museum of Natural History. Sue, alone, is worth the price of admission. Have fun- the weather should be perfect. Really perfect.

Oh, and if you like art, you shouldn't miss the Art Institute. All of these are very close together in the heart of the Loop.

Just as an FYI, the Shedd Aquarium website says that they will be closed Sept 2, 3, and 4.
