Me too! We've done that at a lot of stadiums where we wanted to visit the park, but didn't care about the particular game. Grab a hot dog or other popular food and call it dinner!

I'd agree with Howard to take the tour and/or try to walk up to the ticket office and see if there are any SRO (Standing Room Only) tickets, which run cheaper. You won't have a seat, but you'll be in the park, can walk around, take in the atmosphere, and leave when you're ready. If you tell the folks around you that it's your first baseball experience, I'm sure someone will explain the game, probably even more than you'd ever need to know. We love our baseball, our team, and our park and love to share the experience! Enjoy Boston!
