Interlaken Inn in Connecticut

Has anyone stayed at the Interlaken Inn? What is it like? How are the rooms and facilities? How is the food. We are thinking of Thanksgiving weekend there and food would be a significant part of the experience.

I am topping this post as I would like comments about this inn as we are considering it for a family reunion in September. Any comments?

A few years ago, my employees bought me a gift certificate to their spa. Back then, it wasn't that great. I had lunch there - wasn't really impressed. I haven't been there since then, so I would would try to get more current information - but it wasn't a place I would return to....

We have stayed at Interlaken many times over the years. The setting, accommodations, and service are all perfectly acceptable but nothing spectacular. The lake, however, is absolutely delightful and is the reason we keep coming back. Onsite activities include (all free) boating (rowboats, kayaks, canoes, pedalboat), tennis (2 courts), bikes (the surrounding countryside is very nice), outdoor pool, basketball, playground. Food is OK, but there are some very good restaurants in the area.

Thank you for your comments. We went to visit the inn today and it will probably be just fine for our family. It is really the only place we can find that is convenient for all of us and is in the right price range. Hopefully, the weather will be nice and we would spend most of the time out-of-doors. Debi, thanks for the spa input, but from what we saw I would agree with you about that part of the facility. Too bad about the quality of the food, but for the one night dinner we can manage. There will be children with us so going to a fine restaurant is not wise.
