okay, okay, I'm sorry Starrsville! (When you see me you'll understand my delinquency) What about next Thursday, June 23rd after work for drinks? As long as we can bring kids, I'm up for it. Atlanta Fodorites -- how 'bout a GTG?

I have never stayed there but it has become the "hip" place to stay now in Atlanta. It is giving the Ritz in Buckhead a run for their money. My husband and I go over the sometimes to have drinks after dinner at Mortons..which is right around the corner. Glad to hear it was wonderful!

Wow, I missed this whole thread in the midst of the move. So glad LI passed on the scoop for ya, Iceeu2 and that all went well. OWJ2 and I should priceline a room in Bhead while the house gets painted and the place is in the state it's in. I could use a bit of pampering, right about now!!

Hi everyone,
This was obviously a girl's weekend, but when I came home raving about how great the place was, the real icee was all excited about going there for a weekend getaway soon.
Azoria, where is Morton's? Within walking distance?
OWJ, by all means bid priceline for a luxury Buckhead hotel!

Morton's is in the Westin Hotel (formerly Swissotel) next to Lenox Mall--very convenient. I haven't been to that location but the one in Palm Beach, FL was very good. FWIW,our favorite steak restaurant in Atlanta is Chops (though I should add that we haven't tried all the steakhouses in the city b/c we like that one so much.)
Icee, If you guys come down for the weekend, we'd love to try to meet for a drink or two!

Morton's is NOT in the old Swisshotel. The Palm Restaurant is there. Morton's is before you get to the Westin/Swisshotel. It is located in (i believe) in the Atl. Financial building...it is in the bottom...right on the road. YOu can't miss it bc there is a sign there and valet parking. My husband always drives us there but I believe that is the Atl. Financial Building.
I LOVE Chops! I like it a lot more than Bones bc I like the varied menu more and the decor more. Go to the bottom of Chops to the Lobster Bar if you want to really focus on the seafood. Great place!

Thanks for corrrecting me, Azoria! Ooops!
And we enjoy Chops for the same reasons you do...
BTW, speaking of steakhouses, we had dinner at Stoney River in Roswell the other night w/3 other couples. It was less expensive than a Chops or Bones and everyone said their meal was delicious. The service was quite good but less formal than the upper end restaurants but that's ok. We will definately be going back and ordinarily we are anti-chain restuarants; however, this one is good!
