Inter-island flights from Maui to Honolulu
In June my fiance and I are going to Maui for our honeymoon and are thinking about going over to Honolulu for the day while we are there. I looked on expedia and flight from Maui to Honolulu on Aloha Airlines and Hawaiian airlines are $158 roundtrip, per person.
Is this as cheap as they get or should I be looking somewhere else? Will they be cheaper the closer it gets to June?
Thanks so much!

Sometimes I find that if you fly roundtrip to HNL airport and connect on to Maui (OGG) you may save $)versus flying non-stop to Maui from the mainland. What you could then do on your last day is to catch the first interisland flight from OGG to HNL and visit HNL for the day before returning to the mainland on an evening flight.
Also if you have small amounts of FFmiles, you can redeem interisland flights between OGG (Maui) and HNL for 5,000 to 10,000 miles with Hawaiian Airlines, which partners with many other major airline's FF programs.

We're planning a trip to Maui next month so I too have been looking at inter-island flights to Oahu. We've taken the tour from Polynesian Tours www.polyad.com It's currently priced at $242 each from Maui. It's nice because they tell you a lot about the island you wouldn't ordinarly get. We did this tour a few years ago and it was nice. But I think our driver took us a few places we weren't supposed to go since our tour guide never showed up. Actually a better deal for us. I also have a price from Adventure Maui www.adventuremaui.com for $177.50 per person. This includes the flight over and a rental car for the day. A good choice if you want to do some exploring on your own. Hope this helps.

Ooooh DawnCt:Thanks for the AAA discount tip. That is worth about $30!
1MegMeg: If you are staying on the Lahaina side of Maui you can fly out of the tiny Kapalua airport instead of the circus as Kahalui. Kapalua is very small and quick to get in and out of. It is about 5 miles north of Lahaina.
