Inn at the Shore, Seaside OR
Looking for any info on this new hotel in Seaside near Ave.U.Is that a good location? Is it a nice place? Also, will we be able to ride a shuttle fm SS to Ft Clatsop? NPS says only shuttles, no private cars, allowed there. Ore coast gets great posts -- I've learned a lot -- except for these 2 issues!!
Thanks,
Alice

Avenue U is one of the most scenic parts of the beach around Seaside. Lots of gorgeous, rolling waves and nice views of Tillamook Head.
Yesterday we acquired six surfboards, so we are all ready to go!! It's a great area. Check out the Bigfoot Pub & Grub on Sun. night for their fantastic ribs!!
The info from the NPS is a little mis-leading. You can drive your car down to Fort Clatsop, to a parking lot where you catch the shuttle bus from there and ride it to the Visitor Center/Fort area.
The bus ride is included in your entrance fee. We just toured the fort a couple of weeks ago, it's a must-see for this area. Lots of fun and very informative. We had fun trying on the settler's clothes and taking funny pictures with all the kids.
Enjoy Seaside, you should have some gorgeous weather. The Inn at the Shore looks very nice from the website, and it is in a perfect location. ***kim***

They only have them on Sun. night. My kids love this place! The atmosphere is rather lodgey-type decor, but the food is really good! They also serve a really nice WA Syrah there that I order each time we go there.
Will you have children with you? They'll love the aquarium and the fun carny rides there. Any other questions about the area, just ask! ***kim***

Sounds like a very nice time. There is also a great place in Seaside called Kalypso that has wonderful food and the ambiance is really nice.
In Astoria, Fulio's, The Cannery Cafe and The Silver Salmon Grille are all very good for dinner. Great seafood and Fulio's has wonderful pasta meals. ***kim***
