Inn at Cape Kiwanda OR--opinions?
Have checked TA, but hoping for your personal opinion. How annoying is the road in front? How about the Pub commotion? They close at 8: so can't imagine why it would be a problem, but split decision on TA for both the road and pub noise. Will be there on Sunday and Monday April 28 and 29. Your opinion very appreciated. Thanks, Linda

You may get some constant noise from the ocean as well.
I had to check Google to find out where this was. You might better check into the Cape Lookout B & B which has 12 Excellent ratings and 0 other ratings. http://www.capelookoutbnb.com/About.html
For $200+/night you should get more than Cape Kiwanda JMO.

Linda,
We stayed there several years ago on our last trip to Oregon. You will hear the ocean, but ironically it won't be the real thing (it comes from the room's audio system). On the other hand, you will hear every car that passes by on the road. Pretty sure I did anyway. Too bad, because otherwise, it's a very nice place.
Never noticed any noise from the Pelican Pub.

Cape Kiwanda/Pacific City is a pretty quiet area of our coast. The hotel is right by the road, but it is not that busy. The Pelican Pub is out go-to spot there, but it is not rowdy at all. Much more of a family oriented place. Also, you will be there before high season hits, so it will most likely be very quiet in all respects.

I love the tide pools at Cape Kiwanda. I also love the dory boats when they shoot up onto the sand. Also nice to drive up and see Cape Meares and the Octopus tree. The hotel is indeed right by the road but looks nice.
One great thing about Cape Kiwanda is that because of the dory boats, there is an asphalt/concrete ramp down onto the beach so that the the trucks can drive down and haul the dory boats out. The dory boats only come and go based on the tides, so it's not happening all of the time. The rest of the day you have really easy beach access.
Pacific City has struggled to keep a nice restaurant open. They have one pretty spot on the river where restaurant after restaurant has shuffled through. On a more positive note, there has always historically been a great bakery in Pacific City, and there still is. (Those fisherman must be discerning about their carbs.) It's called Grateful Bread and you also can get breakfast, lunch/brunch there.
