Imperial theatre seats

We have never been to the Imperial Theatre - actually, this is the first trip to New York (from Australia) - and we would like to see a Broadway show. Thinking of doing Billy Elliott but can someone advise best seating. Expensive is not necessarily the best and cheap is not necessarily a disaster! Advice please?

What exactly is your question?

Go to www.playbill.com to see a listing of Broadway shows.
There's an option for every show to buy tickets - and you'll be buying them via Ticketmaster or Telecharge. Check to see if there is availablity for your dates.

If so, before you buy, go to www.broadwaybox.com to see if there are discounts available and follow the provided links to buy tickets with the discount code.

You will probably have to pay full price for Billy Elliott. If that's the show you really want to see and there are no tickets available, you can always opt to buy from a broker at about double the ticket price.

At Ticketmaster and Telecharge, choose the "best available" option unless you have a particular seating preference. Good luck!

I prefer the orchestra and that is where I sat to see BE.
There are no discounts for BE.

I sat in the front row of the mezzanine and thought it was great. My mom sat in the rear mezzanine and thought it was great. I always like to sit in the orchestra, but didn't mind the mezz for this show because the choreography is so wonderful, it was great to see it from a ways back, but the orchestra would be great as well.

BE sells out pretty often, and you get your tickets well in advance. I would avoid the far sides if at all possible.

I've sat in the orchestra years ago and in the rear row of the meazzanine for The Boy from Oz. For BE I sat in the mezzanine. It is such a small theater that you can see and hear well from anywhere. I think the rear row is G or H and it is fine (and much less expensive). As the previous poster said you get a great view of the entire stage from the mezzanine.
