I'm going to Jackson Hole
Hi,
I'm going to Jackson Hole at the end of March (4 single girls). I have never been there before but hear it is very nice. Can you recommend restaurants, bars, other types of entertainment. Thank you any info. would be appreciated.

The Snake River Grill is one of the best restaurants in Jackson Hole. I have a client who lived there and really liked the Purple Moose?(for drinking) It's in the ski area. If you're into checking out 5 star properties, go see Amangani. It's the most beautiful hotel I've ever seen. It's on a butte about 600 feet above the valley approximately 2 miles outside of Jackson Hole. It has an awesome view of the Tetons. You can have cocktails or dinner there is pretty good. If you want to experience a real piece of americana, go to the Rodeo. The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is kind of cool to see. They have saddles for bar stools.
This place is so beautiful. The airport is right next to the Tetons. We were seated on the right side of the plane when we landed. That's where we caught our first glimpse of the mountains. It nearly brought tears to our eyes.

You will love Jackson..you will have a great time..and beleive me 4 girls will not have a problem finding all the hot spots..March will be a good time..since it will not be crowded...but it will still be the tail end of winter it may be cold..Restaurants that come to mind..The Blue Lion...you will want to check out of course the Mangy Moose in Teton Village...and of course the ledgendary Cowboy Bar...as well as the Silver Dollar Bar..which is located in the Wort Hotel...You will not be lacking for activities..even in March...but take your long handled underwear just in case ol man winter comes thru....

I stayed in Jackson Hole the first in October, last fall, at the Rusty Parrot Lodge downtown. Without a doubt, this is one of the finest hotels I have ever stayed in my many travels. In addition to a luxurious room and great downtown location, the rate includes a gourmet breakfast. I ate at the Snake River Grill, and it was outstanding (expensive). Jackson Hole is a great base for visiting Yellowstone.

re: bars ...
1) most definitely the mangy moose in teton village at base of ski area...lively, apres-ski, youngish, energetic, live music often
2) if in town, silver dollar cowboy bar seems to draw most action on any given night..right on the square...walking distance to other watering holes
3) if there on sunday night, locals' favorite is the stage coach inn in wilson , just outside of jackson... very low key, very laid back, very eclectic crowd of ski bums, cowboys, etc...a band ( kind of bluegrass .. featuring the first person to ski the grand teton ) plays ... if lost, just ask for the Coach
re: restaurants ...depending of course on cuisine and budget
firstly, in town :
1) snake river grill ...regional fare..just off town square
2) anthonys ...italian..unassuming..
3) bunnery...for breakfast
4) billys giant burgers ...next to silver dollar bar
next, on village road ( between town and teton village-ski area:
1) calico ...a valley institution...great pizzas, daily rissoto, etc.. personal fave for decades
2) vista grande ...another institution...mexican...next door to calico...pitchers of margharitas...great local atmosphere...personal fave #2
3) nora's fish creek inn ...in wilson, across from aforementioned stage coach..great breakfast
re: other entertainment...
of course skiing/boarding ... tubing on snow king hill... sleigh rides thru elk refuge...a rec center with great indoor pool ...
no doubt i'm forgetting something...but jackson is such a laid back place...most friendly...when in doubt ,simply ask ...have been hooked on the place for 20 yrs ..have fun...i wont mention to nephew at Yale i offered any assistance !
