IF you're coming to NYC, put La Cage aux Folles on your must-see list!

We saw the revival in previews today...and it's great! My wife and I thought it was better than the original. The two leads (Gary Beach, who played Roger de Bris in The Producers, and Daniel Davis, the butler on The Nanny) are outstanding. The whole audience was rocking from the opening number on! It official opens in about 2 weeks.

I hope you have seen the original French film. It's wonderful but not as glamorous as the robin Williams one that has Calista FLockheart as the Senetor's daughter.

Thanks for the review Howard. I saw it years ago on Bway and loved it. I'm waiting for 'Spamalot' to come in February!

I had a great day of theater yesterday too Howard. Saw Encores Bash at City Center. Awesome is all I can say.

Please stop taunting those of us who have no chance of getting to see these shows in NYC. To summarize: Don't Be
Cruel.

I saw La Cage many years ago on Broadway and loved it, even though I was in the very last row of the theater! That's really a test of how good a show is! I've been looking for an excuse to get back to New York.

bugswife, I was at the matinee performance in row H!! Leslie Uggams brought the house down in her first number. Oh my gosh. If you were there at night, did Patti Lupone show up? She didn't show for the afternoon.

No, I was at the matinee as well. Agree, Leslie Uggams was amazing. I also was impressed with Anne Hathaway, whom I knew little about and had no idea she could sing.
