On a more practical note. Almost everyone I know slows down after 75, so try and do what you can before that.

Curious as to what you mean. Do you mean travels less, or does less while travelling? Or something else? Since we have retired we have definitely slowed down. We don't rush around trying to see everything. Our pace is much more leisurely and relaxed as we have more time. One of the many benefits of traveling when retired.

It seems people travel less and make less stops. The physical effort becomes greater. Of course, there are many exceptions, I am speaking generally. When we were in our forties we realized we better do the more physically demanding trips and that is when we scaled the temples of Tikal and made long nature hikes. We figured they could always throw us in the back of a tour bus and tell us where we've been and where we are going. Thus we are going on our first organized tour of Vietnam and Cambodia, which other experienced indie travelers said should be relatively easy otherwise.
