If you could pick only one place...

If you could only pick one place to visit in the United States what would you pick and why? This could be a favorite restaurant, the world's largest tin foil ball, a water park, a stretch of road, anything.

Right now my favorite place is fairly simple. It's the Carefree Hwy. in Arizona. I like to just drive out there and sit on the side of the road and watch the gorgeous sunsets and watch all the lights in the city come on. It's far enough from Phoenix where you can see the stars clearly.

Mendocino, California. A slice of heaven on earth. Like going back in time 40 years.

I would have to pick Multnomah falls area in Oregon. I usually hike this trail that leads you far away from the people and it's so serene and the views just take your breath away.

The sage and lavender scented air in Big Sur this past July was enough to make me weep. I would go back there in one minute. Oh, and the view. Well, that is to die for.

asdaven,

You know why I pick Yellowstone over Utah parks...it's because I can't decide which of the 5 National Parks I like best!

yellowstone is a great choice. For me, haven't been to New York City since I was a kid. That's where I'd go...

Grand Teton N.P., drive on flat land and see the most amazing mountains with no foothills. Drove there 3 times from Florida ! and can't wait to go again.

2nd choice, Lake Tahoe.

3rd- Canadian Rockies

Had to mention them all , sorry OP

Utahtea- I picked that because I can't decide ether. I just liked it because it was quiet and peaceful without crowds. Yellowstone, Grand Teton,Zion , and Grand Canyon would be other ones I would pick also.
