Ideas for extended family vacation destination

Hi all-

I'm looking for your ideas for a destination for an extended family vacation (fourteen people ages 2-65).

We have been going to Hilton Head for quite a few years. These have been great vacations, but we are looking for something different for a change.

Ideally it would be drivable (under 12 hours) from Philly, but might consider flying. We all like the water, so a beach destination would be nice, tennis/golf, and ability to rent a villa/house are all preferred.

Please let me know what you've enjoyed. Thanks for your help.

I've heard that a cruise is fun when you go with a large group of family or friends.

Actually, I am looking for the same option and am considering New York state's Finger Lake area, but still looking for a specific spot and accomodations. Suggestions, anyone?

MIG- Have you thought about Amelia Island, (Fernandina Beach is the city) Florida? There are many options for house/condo rentals and the beach is lovely. There are several golf courses on the island and even the public course is nice. There is a quaint historic shopping area downtown, and several good restaurants. Might be worth a look.
