Hi everyone

I am trying to figure out where I want go over Thanksgiving week this year. Last year I went to Portugal (Lisbon for most of it) and it was a great choice. Mostly sunny, and in the 60s for the most part. I'm an amateur photographer and I had a multitude of subjects to choose from - it's a very photogenic country!

This year I'm torn between going back there again or staying in the US. I'm leaning to a US destination.

I'd like to pick a destination that is expected to have decent weather during late November. Some rain is ok, but a steady diet of it I wouldn't like (not to mention I'm not going to lug all my gear in the rain...). Temps no lower than the 50s during the daytime would be preferable as well. A photogenic area is a must, and I'm not a camper - at all.

Any ideas? Current thoughts include Sedona, possibly Santa Fe and environs.. possibly San Francisco and environs.. that sort of thing. I've already been to Santa Fe and San Francisco a few times so a new inviting place to visit would be great.

I had also thought New England would be great to visit but I think that's a month too late for the weather I'm hoping to find.

Any other suggestions?

You are correct to forget New England. November is not a pleasant or photogenic month - often gray, certainly likely to get colder than your range, past foliage but prior to snow - gray, gray, gray.

Southeast? - Savannah, Charleston, Outer Banks?

I'd hit the Caribbean if I were you. There would be beautiful foliage, that blue blue water. Grand Cayman is a gorgeous place. So is Jamaica, but maybe not for a woman alone, if that is what you are.

I should have mentioned I have a house down near Savannah, so it was also a consideration (and would be the cheapest place to visit - just go hang out in my house) but since I feel like I can go there "anytime" it wasn't as high on the list... It's a good suggestion though and it may be where I end up.

We nearly always go to Key West. Flawless weather & if you can stay over a few days, everyone leaves Sunday morning.

San Diego? Do you know wunderground.com has a trip planner that lets you check historic weather anywhere?

Hawaii? I just booked tix from Seattle to Hawaii for $560 (multi city) which I thought was a good deal...considering the current state of things. Hawaii is very photogenic and definitely warm during your timeframe.

Sedona is gorgeous, but it depends on how long you want to go for.

Currently the three top contenders are:

Puerto Rico (never been)
Sedona (ditto) or
My other home down near Savannah. I can then visit Charleston for an overnight and really wander around Savannah and Beaufort.
