FIND A LODGING DURING THANKSGIVING PERIOD
1) Excuse my English
As I wrote in previous messages, I'll wander about from Washington (departure Nov 17) DC to Miami during two weeks to celebrate our 43th anniversary. Our route: Shenandoah valley, a few escapes in the mountains, a stop near Floyd (VA) for the Friday country music jamboree, a southward crossing, and US 17 from Washington (Carolina) to Florida.
During this trip, I'll stop to my liking, as I do every year in differents parts of USA, WITHOUT RESERVATION. This year my trip time includes Thanksgiving holydays. Do you think I'll have difficulties to find a room?
Thanks
Alain (France)

Alain, you may have difficulty finding a room without a reservation in Charleston or Savannah over the Thanksgiving holidays. Otherwise I think you will be able to locate something without a prior booking.
Have fun in Floyd, it is great!

Alain, the drive between DC and Miami is very popular the week of Thanksgiving.
Millions make the drive from the heavily populated areas of the northeast to different parts of Florida. Thanksgiving week is one of Orlandos busiest weeks of the year.
Traffic will be heavy on all roads that week.
Don't take the chance.
Fair warning.
