Some sort of tanker fire - on national news. What a bad day for a big mess!

It's in the Southbound lane of I-95 just north of the Washington Beltway (College Park).

I'm sure all the traffic has been diverted to the Balto-Wash Parkway, so that will be a mess too.

If you're heading South, I would take the Harbor Tunnel to I-97, to Rt 3, to RT 50 to I-495.

other options are to take BWI parkway which is 295 south and connect to 495 in about 20 or 25 miles. You can also take 29 south to 495. 295 runs on the east of 95 south and 29 runs on the west.

thankfully we are heading over to the Eastern Shore within the hour so we should be all set.

I'm thinking that all the car traffic will be redirected to the BWI Parkway, 295. That will be a mess. The trucks will probably be diverted to Rt 29 since no trucks allowed on 295.

I would avoid those two roadways.

One of my employees has just arrived at work in Washington and has informed me that 95 has been re-opened.
