Aloha to all our FFFs.
Totally swamped at work so a real trip report may not be that forthcoming.
If anybody has any quick Q's, feel free to drop me a line at my addy. ([email protected])
But, nothing spectacular. Pretty darn boring as a matter of fact! But boring is good sometimes.
Briefly: Hawaiian Air Rules, NaPali still beautiful, ditto Polihale, Coconuts lobster ravs should be made the State Appetizer, convertible's still rock, inconsiderate smoker's and cell phone users suck even more on beaches, Sand Bar friend's are the best, Bobby's Black Cap Chili Seasoning is ONO, Chanelly of Kauai's jewelry is very pretty with some innovated designs, pray for the new owners of The Whaler Brew Pub, we will NEVER go back to The Shack, The Brick actually disappointed, golf golf golf, sun sun sun, wind wind wind, beer beer beer....SPF 45 45 45.
And, our New Year's resolution and my motto from my other site sums up this trip:
"May you always be blessed with a great family, good friends and happy travels...and may they never mix!"
Long story.........but never again.
It may be time to move onward to Tahiti/Cook Islands and/or NZ-Oz. (Or at least let friends and family THINK we're going there.....

Kal, is it the Brick Oven Pizza that was disappointing? It was on lmy list to take my boys (7,11 yrs) for pizza. Where was that jewellery place you mentioned? Is there really Hawaiin pineapple wine? Do you think it would be to rough to take the boys on a boat tour of the Na Pali? 5 days till departure! Cold in Canada and can't wait!

Hi again, Kal -
Glad you're back; we missed your wit, satire and keen sense of humor. Let us hear more about your trip sooner rather than later - work can wait. I, too, am interested in if you were disappointed with BOP - always good for at least one stop. I love your words of wisdom re family, friends and travel. You are so very right - "been there, done that" and it rarely works as well as "just the two of us."
We're anxiously waiting and welcome back.
Karen
P.S. Only 29 days!

lmaz-We went to The Brick twice this trip. The first time it was it's usual "ono-liscious" self. VERY good.
The 2nd time the pizza was a bit cold and just didn't taste as good as it usually is...and for the price they now charge, they need to be very good.
Still friendly service. Parking is still a drag. There is a field across the street that's easier to park in if you go at a busy time. Just be careful crossing the street...dark and traffic buzzes by.
They closed a lot of the NoShore beaches while we were there due to 20-30 ft waves so your guess is as good as mine on the NaPali tours! Make sure you discuss refunds before going out. Have a great trip!
B'man-No Pine/wine. Was going to try some Tedeschi wine from Maui but much like this whole trip, never go around to it.
LindLu2u-Lae Nani is right down the road from The Islander. Drop by the Sand Bar and have a mai tai for Mrs Kal and me and say "hey" to Karen, Tim, Pezzie or Geramie.
The Shack is the restaurant that took over the Kappa Fish/Chowder building. Great burgers/buff wings etc and pretty inexpensive for Kauai but when it takes you almost an hour to get your food on a slow night that's pushing it. And it happens more often than not from all we've talked to.

), and have always had reasonable service. However we go in the afternoon for lunch, and do not go there in the evening for dinner.
