I left my heart in san francisco

Unfortunately S. F. Is not the great US city by the bay it once was, The París of the US it ino longer is! When I lived there 2021-23 walking to work in the am was like an obstacle course not to step on the feces everywhere on Market street. Don't want to blame anyone but this once beautiful city by the Bay has gone to s...t literaly.

Oakland was the first to go with homeless everywhere. Even the once mighty Oakland Raiders have left to L. V. Because they couldnt build them a stadium. The Oakland A's were also leavng last I heard, following suit with the Raiders. Wish I could say otherwise but its true. Alameda a once gorgeous little barrier Island where many S. F.s lived to get away from the proliferation of homeless in Oakland has been affected. I was broken into three times and computer and other valuable items stolen, the police didnt or couldnt do anything. Car thieves prowl the streets looking for cars to break in. My daughters little Toyota was also broken into similarly, in a private city lot. Its shameless and the home prices there are being artificially sustained by zealous Realtors living in the past. S F. is rotten to the core! Tony wasnt the only one whose heart was broken in San Francisco.

Ods10, I am sorry you had such bad experiences. Crime is actually down significantly since 2023 and the number of unhoused people has decreased. I hope these positive trends continue as I love my city. SF has weathered tough times before and, as 4th generation San Franciscan, I hope for a better future.

Things are now looking up. The City has recently removed the homeless from the parks and sidewalks in SF. Some moved into transitional or permanent housing but others are living under bridges.

I think you may have misinterpreted Tony Bennett's lyrics. His song is actually a love song to San Francisco. Here are some of the lyrics:

"The morning fog may chill the air, I don't care
My love waits there in San Francisco
Above the blue and windy sea
When I come home to you, San Francisco
Your golden sun will shine for me"

This morning the sun is shining, and the city does look golden.

Hmmm... Is the point of the post just to trash S.F.? This is a new poster but the events described are from 2021-23.

I heard that if you ask Joe Montana to sign something with that slogan he gets really really mad
