I just got asked on a date

Do you love it when your significant other emails you something to the effect of, "Let's go out to dinner tonight"? I sure do.

I'm jealous! Maybe I shouldn't wait for Sadie Hawkins Day.

That happened to me as well today. I dropped DH off at work and he said when you pick me up tonight, we can go out to eat. I don't know where yet, but it's not going to be McD's.

DH works for home, lending itself to lots of ham sandwiches. Or PBJ. Or turkey.
So today he invited me to lunch and a trip to Best Buy. That's all it takes to make me a happy girl.

I thought maybe it was your gym boyfriend! LOL

Yes. It is nice to be asked out. I am watching my DDs dating and it so much fun to watch how sweet the boys are (high school). I miss those days.

Lunch was successful, followed by a trip to Best Buy and Barnes and Noble. And now for my nap - what could be better?

Challiman - Glad you're having a fun day! The trip to Best buy is amusing. Guys love that store. Me, not so much.

GOTG- No, lol, not the gbf. We are broken up due to exactly that sort of misstep.

We went to the movies yesterday..mostly to avoid all of the weather chatter on the tv..and DH asked me if I wanted to get a bite to eat after...I said "Nope..have a turkey breast in the crock pot". I can control calories easier if I cook! But we are going out Saturday to the theater and dinner after. It is so nice to be asked, isn't it?!

It's our 31st anniversary and we are going to the hospital to see my FIL. We will probably bring MIL home and stop somewhere to eat on the way. Not real romantic, but it will do.

If my DSW asked me on a date, I would know she was having an affair.

Aw, Dutch, I bet she asks you on dates all the time. She's not having no stinkin' affair. Who would cheat on you?!

cgenster, I'm sorry about your FIL and the lack of romance today. I hope you can find a time really soon to enjoy an evening out with your DH, without the MIL or worries about the FIL. I can't begin to count the number of times we've had to postpone celebrations of all kinds. Postpone, but don't ignore or forget! Better late than never.

Z, I bet you can think of a friend who would love to be invited to lunch, or for coffee, or a walk. That might be just what they need today! Or tomorrow.

I like Best Buy almost as much as DH does. I look at every camera they have, the iPad, laptops, netbooks, phones, camera bags, etc. The reason we went today was because he signed up for Netflix and supposedly he could view it through the Wii. Well, he got the advice he needed and came home and now we have more movie watching potential than we can get through all winter! It was definitely a good move to get that figured out, plus a nice lunch to boot!

Dutch,

Have you asked HER out lately?

Wives appreciate a little attention, you know.

He's not that big on traditional holidays, but I LOVE it when my husband comes up with a special treat out of the blue.

Z and Challiman--It wasn't a big deal. When I read the OP I just responded because DH had texted me today about what I wanted to do for our anniversary. We actually texted 'Happy Anniversary' to each other at the same time.

Today was fine and since we only have one child left at home and she is 22, we do have lots of time to ourselves. My in-laws are wonderful and I don't mind spending time with them.
