OO-
I posted a brief report earlier. If you click on my name look for "Martha's Vineyard restaurant reservations". Otherwise we did a whole lot of nothing!!!

Several of the better known/liked restaurants weren't going to open for the season until this weekend so we missed out on those.

The weather was so glorious that we sat on our balcony alot and read &/or drank wine! We did the full circle around the island, saw the cliffs near Gay Head, the lighthouses and found some interesting shops.

We rented a convertible and mostly enjoyed just finding the little backroads along the beaches that the maps don't show. MV is not forthcoming about the hidden beauty of the island and I can't say that I blame them. The ferry system serves as a filter for the number of cars that can get on the island so traffic was only an issue at certain times and areas. It's impossible to get too lost so it's it's fun to explore and just see what you find.

By the way--the third thing is honey-roasted peanuts! Odd indeed.

fdecarlo--if I ever have the misfortune to be on the flight you describe, I hope you're on it!!
