I can't take the cold anymore, I want to go to Las Vegas!

I might be able to make it through February in NYC if I can look forward to going to Las Vegas in March.
I am thinking that the Bellagio would be great! Views, great food, a spa, and it will be warm. Does anyone have a better idea?
Whatever it takes to get me through another North East Winter! Thank you very much!

Vegas would fit the bill perfectly - and probably be the most affordable. Book it!

We have had esentially no winter this year. The only cool week we had since summer was the week of Dec.15th-22nd (48-55). Ever since the weather has been in the low 60's. The last 2 days it's been 68! This is not usual however. It seems the east coast is getting all the cold. If this keeps up you will have terrific weather here - the only place comparable in these unseasonal temps is so. cal. Have fun whatever you decide!

Oh thank you! How nice to hear that your weather is fairly warm, considering that it will be 9 degrees at night, later on this week
I would have thought of other warm spots (the Sahara?) but my husband likes the idea of gambling & shows. I just wanna be warm!!!
What would we do in Palm Springs? no one here plays golf
Florida will wait until we are older
Does the Bellagio sound like the best bet (no pun intended) for pampering myself?
Any ideas, feel free, it makes me feel better just reading about it
Thanks to all.April

I know that this is a US travel forum, but you know, April, it is summer (yay!) in the southern hemisphere. How about Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires?

April if being in the warmth is a top priority why not a Caribbean cruise? You can gamble of the ship, and be assured of warmth versus "well maybe it will be warm and maybe it won't" business. Think beyond the U.S.

Isn't "warmth" a relative matter? Someone coming from below freezing temps should find 70 degrees quite "warm". I know that's how it is for me. Las Vegas would be fine.

I have been to LV in late March more than once, and 50% of the time have sat poolside in a sweatshirt and towel over legs. It can be cool, but is usually sunny; occasional winds.
Living presently in Boulder County, Colorado I still choose the LV getaway in March - sitting poolside with an umbrella-drink is better than BRRRR....

Hello again! I know what you mean about the cold weather as I'm from the east coast originally = ) The Bellagio is the best place to be pampered as well as being the nicest hotel on the strip. Just on a side note, if you're one for massages. Angel's Touch Spa does all the outcall work for the Bellagio (this is also the spa I go to). If you're interrested in saving about $50 on your massage you can call Angel's Touch direct to book an appointment. Although I've never had spa treatments at the Bellagio I've read that their version of hot stone therapy is supposed to be great(at the spa). Have a great visit!

Aaahhh I am feeling the warmth of the desert sun and hearing the clink of the chips as my husband gambles away our fortune
Actually! while it may be too cool for a pool ( hey-that rhymes!) we would like to take a hike or go to Lake Mead for a day, it would be such a pleasure to walk outdoors without freezing in our tracks! So 60-70"s is ok with me. Any other places that you know of for hikes etc, let me know.
We are not happy with boats.
(which means that I will be hanging over the side of one the entire trip)
We would like a little more to a few days away besides lying on a Caribbean beach, so what better than a city with warmth and shopping, good eats and shows?
Great Idea Natalie!! I will keep that name..
Now-where to eat? Did I mention the family fortune? I intend to spend a good deal of it so feel free to help me with ideas..
Thanks again, April

You would probably like Redrock Canyon a lot. Very good hiking & beautiful red rock (of course) about 30 mins NW of the strip. Bonnie springs is nearby, just follow signs. There's also Mt. Charleston about 45mins away which is our version of wilderness. Lots of trees, hiking, and wild horses and such. But nothing like back east = ), still pretty though. As far as dining goes you'll see a similar post below entitled "where should we eat" where I responded. I highly recommend the mentioned Pieros which is just off the strip near the convention center. The Bellagio has some of the best dining in town. If you want to see the city the NW Summerlin part of town (going towards Red Rock) also has good dining along Charleston and Rampart area (you'll pass it). There's certainly lots of places to spend $$ here, also the Fashion Show mall on the strip just reopened w/ amazing shopping along w/ the forum shops at Caesars Palace. If you're up for a day trip you could go to the No rim of the Grand Canyon. Day trips run around 2-300pp for a personal jeep tour. 10 hrs or so. I took a visiting friend & she enjoyed it a lot but I didn't as much as I guess I'm used to the mountains, also you will drive through Joshua Tree Nat'l park. Aren't I just a pillar of knowledge today? hee hee Have fun on your visit if there's anything else just LMK = )

April, I know just what you mean about the cold. I'm from the east coast as well. Yesterday when I woke up I discovered that my water pipes were frozen. Fortunately they didn't burst. I'm less patient than you. I'm heading to Vegas next week. Looking forward to warmer weather and Superbowl parties. Thanks for the info Natalie about the spa treatments. I'll definately look into it.

Rhonda,
You HAVE to give us a trip report when you get back!!
While this week they are threatening us with low temps of 9 degrees, I will be planning and reserving restaurants and shows (and spas.
Natalie- you are certainly a Vegas expert and I do thank you for your tips.
Now if we can just make it until March..
