Hyatt Regency San Francisco - Parking Alternatives

Hey,
We will be spending a few nights in Hyatt Regency San Francisco. I've have good things about this hotel, except that the valet parking fee is $43+tax per night (you can self-park for $27/night, but without the in/out privileges). Are there any alternatives to parking at Hyatt? Any garages nearby? Thanks in advance.

Where are you driving in from?

If you are coming in during the weekend you can use some of the BART Stations free - we always use the Daily City BART for our overnight trips - the BART station at the Embarcadero is easy in and out even with luggage for 2 people 2 bike and even a tandem bike...

I think the nearest public parking garage is the Golden Gateway on Clay, but it is not cheap. I think it is something like $32 for overnight parking.

Are you flying in? If so, you don't need a car in SF. If this is just a few days before driving elsewhere - don't pick up the rental car until you are leaving the city.

If this is a driving trip and you'll be in your own car - then the public lot SAB mentions might be best.

the reason they can charge such an outrageous price is because there is no cheap parking in downtown SF

Aloha!

I am not a fan of the Hyatt but $40 seems to be the going rate lately for the downtown hotels. The Ritz is $62 so perhaps you should be thankful for $42!
