Kal is spot on.
It's good to make a list of things you want to see or try and so on, but there is this irresistible force that renders such lists ineffective and non-binding, if not utterly redundant, once on the island
And not just Kauai either
You're renting house & condo, use their facilities, simple meals for all (kids don't care) occasionally will save you $$ compared with (often over priced) restaurants every night, let alone increase your flexibility.
For Poipu area try Joe's On The Green for breakfast, nice setting. Also, visit the "Hawaii Trading Post", it's where the road west out of Koloa meets the main highway. Some magnificent jewellry, including Niihau shell leis, both on display and for sale plus decent stuff for those not into big ticket items.
