How would you spend 14 days in Hawaii (Kauai/Maui)?

I'm also going to recommend against staying in east Kauai. The beaches or scenery are not the best, nor are they ideal for a honeymoon. Either north shore ( Priceville, Hanalei) or south (Poipu) is better.
I also think that for a honeymoon, forget the condo/Costco stuff. This is your once and only honeymoon. Enjoy it as such.
You can (and will) be back.

We just returned from Maui, so my 2 cents would be:
- Ritz Carlton, while pricey, was spectacular. The renovations are complete and it's great there - especially the Club Level rooms (food presentations, etc). Snorkeling was just as good there as anywhere we found on Oahu or Maui - turtles, clear water, etc.
- Haleakala National Park (Crater) is a must-drive. You don't have to do the sunrise/sunset if you don't want to. It's a really nice drive that pays off at the end: a 10,000 feet view into the crater and the island around you.
- When you get the urge for a little nightlife, Lahaina does the trick. The Feast at Lele was a great experience.
- And finally, the road in the northeast will give you some amazing views of the coastline. It's a bit nerve-wracking, but worth it.
Perhaps by now you've booked your trip, but if not I hope this helped a bit.

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary in 2000 spending 8 days each in Kauai and Maui. For a splurge house rental you might consider - check out the "Waterfall" house in Maui if you decide to go rental vs. resort.

DH and I went on a 2nd honeymoon in the 90's with an equal one week each split between Maui and Kauai. It was the right choice. We went to Maui first, which I think was the right choice. Subsequent trips to the islands we have spent just 4 - 5 nights on each, which wasn't long enough.
