Rats, I am clueless on the shoe inventory.

Weekend: somewhat sucky. I have been sick for days and still feel awful. My little puppy Flora needs a mom that can show an 8 month old dog a good time, and right now, it isn't me.

We did a lot of work around the house, and I was such a good wife that I accompanied DH on a trip to the big box home improvement store. We needed supplies for the new closet he is building. What a guy!

But he did burn the rib steaks that I had been dying for on Saturday night. ;-)

How my weekend was doesn't matter. It's gone. Can't change it now, and knowing mine won't change anyone elses.

But I'd love to read some good trip reports.

Great weekend.
We spoke to our boy in Japan and found out that his visit for Christmas will be for a month!!! Happy mama here..keeping this travel related for r_b...he will fly NW from Narita to PDX then a train to Seattle to visit friends then back to PDX then fly to NYC to visit friends...then perhaps Spain/Morrocco..Meanwhile, we are househunting and planning our own trip back to NYC..that will be via Continental Airlines and more than a couple of hotels involved...
But the weekend was lovely, Faina

Ohhh...travellllll realted!!!

I traveled cross town and had the weekly Sat morning coffee with the So Placer Co Irregulars.

Then got back and checked out the 5 hotels we will be staying at in Italy next month and made some plans for inter Italy travel and sight seeing (ooops-should I post this on the Europe "How was your weekend board"?)

I then traveled to the local butcher shop and bought two New York strips-
USDA Prime.

My travels then took me to the local grocery store where I bought other dinner fixin's and bought a Cab simply based on the label name, "3 Blind Moose". Turned out it was very good!

The steak continues to travel while the Cab has already reached it's destination.

I did all of this in my good ol' Keens.

Sounds lovely MizScarlett! Which wonderful NYC hotels? St.Regis? Pierre? The new MO? Smooches to Pup!

My weekend was fabulous! Simply fabu!

Did nothing Friday, ran my long run at 4AM Saturday, back in bed by 7AM and slept until almost 11AM, beach for a while, out with Mr.GoTravel and a girlfriend for happy hour back in bed by 8:30PM and slept until 10AM Sunday!

For Sunday brunch, fried chicken, slaw and apple pie with ice cream! Of course I cooked

Sunday night was double feature night: Miami Vice at 7:10PM and Ricky Bobby at 9:45PM.

Mr. GoTravel and I laughed so hard at the Legend of Ricky Bobby, I couldn't hear the movie and missed half of what they were saying!

Fabu weekend!

No shoe shopping this weekend, lol.

Had a wonderful dinner with friends and soaked in our jacuzzi.

My husband and I spent the weekend looking at condo photos in Portugal. We are purchasing an investment/vacation property there.

Had a great weekend. I'll travel relate it......
Was in Wilmington NC for 2 days on business. Never been before, and would like to visit on pleasure. Flew in and out of LGA on US Scareways with no problem and stayed at a Hilton right on the Cape Fear River.
Friday nite we worked a concert (we are volunteering for an arts organization that raises money by putting on concerts at the Arboreteum, nice setting. We drove there with no traffic. The concert was Bela Fleck and the Flecktones - really great! Then we drove home with no traffic.
Saturday we drove again to Southhampton LI to visit friends for the day. We hit no traffic either way on the LIE.
Sunday we were home and I floated in my pool dreaming about our upcoming trip to DC in September and Paris in December. Then we drove to the Arboreteum again to work another concert. We hit no traffic. The concert was a sold out show by Hootie and the Blowfish - they were just great! We hit no traffic on the way home.
Now I'm tired...........

How was that rb?

I LOVE Hootie & The Blowfish!

I went to school with those guys at the University of South Carolina.

They played for Tiger Woods wedding.

Saturday was a lazy day... reading, pottering in the garden and stocking up the refridgerator. Sunday we drove into Boston. Had lunch at Tamarind Bay in Cambridge. It was pretty good but I'd like to try the evening menu sometime soon (buffets are not my favorite). Shopped a little (books not shoes! )
Then, the highlight of my weekend ...drove to the airport (arrgh traffic was awful) to collect my son! He was travelling solo for the first time as an unaccompanied minor from London to Boston. No problems, thankfully and he had a great time with a friend in the UK without us...

Good weekend here. Beautiful weather, perfect for lounging in the hammock Football began last week for DS, so it was sort of the towns social hour at practice this weekend. Gotta love small towns. Planned next summers vacation. First it was to be the lakes in Idaho. Then it was Okanogan Lake in BC. We finally decided on returning to the Canadian Rockies. Got our favorite cabin booked at Lake Louise and need to decide on one for Jasper. The rest of that trip can get planned during the year, lol!

Kal: LOL at the Keens. I still love my Chacos.

I met my three sisters and my mom at a condo in Blanchard, ID. We ate, drank several bottles of wine, went swimming, did a little hiking, and lots of shopping.

It was a nice weekend. And I did all of this while wearing my Chacos.

My husband and I had a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon mini-getaway along the Fox River. The drive along 31 from I-88 to St. Charles is pleasant. We walked around downtown St. Charles a bit. It was pretty quiet. But it's a nice little downtown area.

We stopped in Erik & Me for drinks and appetizers on their riverside deck. The beer was good, the appetizers were good. And it's such a relaxing spot to spend an hour or so on a nice Sunday afternoon.

We didn't want to go into the city because of Lollapalooza, the Cubs game, the tall ships and all the other things that might have made traffic less than pleasant. When we were looking for alternatives, we thought of the Geneva/St. Charles area because it'd been quite a while since we'd been out that way. We used to go fairly often when our kids were little. They loved that park on the island in Geneva and the foot bridge under the train tracks.
Anyway, it turned out to be a very good choice for us yesterday.

And to think there was a poster last week who seems to feel that the Chicagoland area has nothing of value to offer!

Finally had a nice relaxing weekend at home.

Saturday we went for a quick hike, then traveled to the grocery store (which provides a nice view of Whiteface Mtn.) to pick up some groceries. We had chicken and scallops for dinner but no alcohol. Fiance had a few too many Friday night.

Sunday, we went for an hour long walk (after some pleading to the fiance) where I managed to get a little sunburn. Darn it! I hadn't even thought of that. Now I'll have this stupid tan line that probably won't go away until next summer---and I'll be in 2 weddings (including my own) both requiring strapless gowns between now and the end of Sept...Then I sat out on my back patio and enjoyed 2 glasses of my Kicked-up Crystal Light (just add vodka--strawberry or raspberry flavored work best), and read a few magazines.

I must say that as much as I wanted a quiet weekend at home, I kept looking for ways to get out of the house and do something fun. We tossed around the idea of day tripping to Lake George or Burlington, but we didn't feel like doing the actual traveling to get there. And I felt major guilt for not really doing anything wedding related.

I had an unusual weekend. The Maitreya Project Buddhist Relic Tour (http://tinyurl.com/q2r42) was in town and I went to check it out. Apparently the display contains the remains of some of the great Buddhist masters and this exhibit is traveling around the world before ending up permanently displayed in a 500 foot tall Buddhist statue in northern India in a few years. There were people there of all faiths and it was very interesting to see and experience. The best part was the blessing I received from the monk who was there - can't go wrong with that! I think the exhibit will be in Chicago next weekend, then Ontario later in the month if anyone is interested.

As for travel-related items, let's see, I 'traveled' all over my new place unpacking boxes - does that count?

What's the shoe inventory?
