How long from Hollywood to Joshua Tree Park?

Does anyone know how long is the drive on Sunday from Hollywood to Joshua Tree Park? After visiting Joshua Tree park, we want to stay overnight in Twentyninepalms. The next day drive back to SF.
Is it doable?
And would it be doable to visit the gospelbrunch in House of Blues (10.00 am) before we leave Hollywood? I would LOVE to go to this brunch soooo much.

We did this. I'd allow between 3 and 4 hours, mainly depending upon the traffic getting out of LA -- but Sunday should be fine.

I love the brunch at House of Blues, and we LOVED staying and eating pool side at 29Palms (I assume you mean a casita at the 29 Palms Inn?)

The only problem with doing the brunch first, is you're not giving much time for Joshua Tree (although just a drive through I guess wouldn' be bad). But it is certainly doable. It was too hot when we went to do any real hiking so basically all we did was drive through.

Sunday early (by 9 am say), it may be under three. But it's always good to allow more time

I just saw the brunch comment. Then allow the 3-4 that Neo mentioned. Traffic thickens up in the late morning/ early afternoon.

I don't think you will have much time to see the Park. Two hours for brunch plus minimum three hours for driving. So it will be 3pm when you are there. The good news is that the two best walks take about an hour each (Barker Dam and Hidden Valley) and you can drive to Keys View Rood to see sunset. So it is doable, although not really advisable.
