How far is Savanah or Charleston from Hilton Head

How far is Savanah or Charleston from Hilton Head

Hi,
Heading to Hilton Head in February. Will be there Thursday-Sunday. Is there time to drive to Charleston or Savanah for the day?

The drive from Hilton Head to Savannah is about 45 minutes (unless you take a wrong turn, like we did ha ha). I believe Charleston is considerably farther, but I've never made that drive.

I love Savannah and highly recommend that you visit while you're there!

Charleston is a lot more interesting than Savannah with MUCH better dining. It might be an hour and a half drive.

I would up these estimates--you can get to the Savannah airport in 45 minutes, but the historic center of town would be more like 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic, of which there is lots, especially getting off the island. Charleston I would put at over 2.

Is there time? Depends on how much you find to do at Hilton Head. We were there over Christmas, and thoroughly enjoyed a visit to the historic center of SavannaH.
