How do I get to Tysons?

I will be staying at the Crowne Plaza in Alexandria, VA on Sunday. I would like to go to Tyson's to shop. I would love to get there without paying a cab fare. How can I do it?
Thanks!

It is possible to get to Tyson's via Public transit though I have never done it. You should check out the Washington Metro's online trip planner for directions. Is there a particular store you are looking for? While Tyson's is nice it is the typical upscale suburban mall

It's not going to be easy. You could take the subway--there is a shuttle from your hotel--to West Falls Church and then get a bus. OR, you could go to King Street Metro station and take a fairly long bus ride to Tyson's.

Or you could just go to Pentagon City where there is a Macy's and Nordstroms, plus the other usual suspects.

As the others noted, it is not very convenient to do without a car. Are you looking for a particular store? I would also recommend Pentagon City mall as a good alternative.

Thank you for your responses. I appreciate you taking the time to post.

I usually do just go to Pentagon City for Nordies, but I thought since I will have a good deal more time this visit I would find more options at Tysons.
