How can you tell if a flight is jet service?

I just went to Orbitz and typed in two random cities and when the flight details came up it listed the type of aircraft (757, A300, etc). If you still don't know then take this info and go to the airline website. Most airline websites have detailed descriptions of their plane types.

A turbo prop plane on Orbitz is always listed as turboprop. If you see CRJ or Canadair then it's a small jet. If it's 733 or 753 or 757 or 767 then it's a big jet with first class seats. CRJ flights don't have first class. You can have DC #'s as well which are big jets. Don't worry it's a big jet unless it is shown as turboprop or CRJ........

Unfortunately, length of flight doesn't tell much these days. While they are still jets, RJs are being used on flights as long as 3 hrs these days and for some people that's a long time to be couped up in a mini-jet. To add to saps comments, you can also go to the manufacturers web sites. Boeing, Airbus, etc will also give detailed info on their planes.

Try itasoftware.com
Click on "Looking for flights?"
If any leg of a flight is propeller, they tell you.
You can also check a box to "don't show propeller flights".
You can't purchase tickets from ITA, you'll need buy directly from the airline or another service (like Orbitz).
