House rental in Maui or Kauai

Planning a 1-week family vacation in Hawaii for next June, and looking for house rental in Maui or Kauai. Min 4 br/3ba, relatively close to beach, hot tub or pool nice to have.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

There is a really good recent thread on this subject. Do a search. Yes, vrbo (vacation rentals by owner) works, but so do googles which may lead you to agencies which rent for the owners. Try something like "rental houses Maui Kauai" and refine the search from there.

Do try to find the thread of which I am speaking.

Last year we stayed in a fantastic house in Kihei on Maui - look it up at:
www.dcmaui.com
We stayed in the main house. Literally across the stree from the beach... I could go on and on, so look it up and see what a great large place it is. There were 8 adults and we had a fantastic time!

BayouGal,

Of the ones that I listed, we have used Na Pali and were happy with the property and the service.

There are some great houses to rent on Maui but I often don't save the links because I know I'll never afford them

Some nice ones here: http://www.mauiaccommodations.com/intro.html

One of the listings ( http://www.fabulous-homes.com/gold/ ) on this site http://www.fabulous-homes.com was doing the rounds in an email saying it was Tiger Woods' place in Florida, one look at the view showed how wrong that was !

You might try some of the Maui realtors, often they manage rentals as well.

Good hunting, and Happy New Year to all.

Hi there, if you are looking for Maui Luxury Home rentals, you should look at www.luxuriousdestinations.com - It has houses for Maui, Oahu, Kauai and also any luxury services. I like that their images are the biggest too, and their service was the best personal care I have ever experienced.

i used vrbo.com for my hawaii trip. thought all places were as represented. be aware if you want air condtioning, not all places have it. Hotels/Motels do, but not all house set ups. enjoy

mentioned VRBO.com is great as well as few other websites, but I found HomeAway.com a little bit more useful.
For example, Maui all rentals (http://www.homeaway.com/maui/s/1725/fa/find.squery) you can choose by 'property type', 'amenities' (air conditioning, internet access, washing machine, satellite tv) or 'suitability' (children welcome, wheelchair accessible', etc) - great feature to choose a place for vacation.
