hotels near Oprah

Hi! Looking forward to a girls' weekend in Chicago and going to an Oprah show. Any suggestions for nice hotels near Harpo Studio? Where is Harper Studio? Thanks!

You can stay at the Hyatt Water Tower which is right across the street from her appartment. She walks her little dogs in the park behind the hotel every morning.

If you're just going to see one Oprah show, you don't want to stay near Harpo Studios for the entire weekend. Stay somewhere else and take a cab over.

I'd ask on their website, http://www.oprah.com. You'll have to get tickets for the show or if you've already done so then it seems they'd offer suggestions on where out-of-towners can stay.

Harpo Studios address is 1058 West Washington, Chicago. If you don't already have a reservation, call: 312- 591-9222. Monday thru Friday, 9am-5pm CT. Have fun!

There aren't any hotels near Oprah's studio (Although there is a transient hotel on Ashland not too far away). It's in a warehouse district (or what was a warehouse district, and is now a warehouse district with some expensive lofts).

There is a Quality Inn (I think) on Halsted in Greektown, but I used to walk past it all the time -- YUCK! Doesn't meet your criteria for a nice hotel, I'm sure.

Stay downtown (Loop or N. Mich. Ave) and grab a cab.

Although you might want to hit lunch at Wishbone (right by Harpo) before or after Oprah.

HTH,
Racy
