Musquitos in Anchorage and Denali

How bad is the "bug" situation first couple of weeks in September in these 2 locations? Any advice? Thanks a lot.

Can't speak for September but in late July we didn't think they were bad at all.

We had quite a few mosquitos while camping near Anchorage the first week inJuly. A week laater we were back there and the dragon/damsel flies had moved in and eaten most of them!

You should be fine in September, well past the peak mosquito season. There may still be some around, but not many.

Just got back from Anchorage & Denali. Stayed in Denali for three nights in a Lodge, great trip! Anyway, 90% of the mosquitoes were gone while we were there. They said they already had a frost and that killed 90% of them. We never touched our bug spray. I'm sure you'll be fine in September, with it being even colder then.

You'll have no problem. We were in Anchorage and Denali the last two weeks of August last year and hardly noticed any mosquitoes. We brought some hardy DEET repellent but never needed it. Enjoy your trip!
