Hotels in SF?

Hi I am traveling for business and need to stay near the TransAmerica Pyramid/Ferry Building in San Francisco. Can anyone offer me direction as to where would be the best hotel to stay at?

Thanks in advance!

Le Meridien, Omni, & Hilton San Francisco Financial district are right nearby, many more not too far away

For info like this I like to use google maps. I entered "hotel near transamerica pyramid, SF, CA" and it pulled up lots of options.

The Hyatt Regency Embarcadero is right across the street from Ferry Buildling.

Also the Vitale (right on the Embarcadero, kitty corner from the Ferry Building), and the Griffin and Harbor Court on Steuart Street (less than a block from the Ferry Bldg., a few blocks from the TAP).

The TransAmerica building and the Ferry Building are about 8 blocks apart (depending on route) So hotels nearest the Ferry Building will be further away from the Pyramid and vis a versa. However unless you absolutely have to stay as close to either location as possible, all the hotels suggested will work.

Another hotel that I just became aware of a few months ago thanks to a friend from Toronto is the Club Quarters fodors4life. Here is their website for your review.

Second on the Vitale. Extremely nice. The Hilton Embarcadero is also nice...but it doesn't have as much character.

We stayed at Le Meridien in October, for my son's wedding. We had a large and lovely room with a view out to the Bay Bridge. I liked that hotel a lot.

Trekker, Hilton Embarcadero? Are you confusing it with the Hyatt Embarcadero?

And I think the TAP is actually only a little less than 6 blocks from the Ferry Building.

The Mandarin Oriental is within walking distance of the Ferry and Transamerica Building.
