Hotels in or near Hollywood Ca

We will be staying with my husband who will be working in Hollywood Ca in November. We have a 14 year old daughter who travels with us. I am trying to find a safe area. We usually stay in Staybridge Suite type hotels but the one there is too far away. Can anyone suggest a nice and reasonable place (the company pays for it and has limits)The employee who is staying there now is in the Best Western and I do not feel that this is safe for my family.
Thank you
Molly

If you must stay in Hollywood, look into the Renaissance Hollywood-- they must have corporate rates. Otherwise, if you look at properties in Beverly Hills or West Hollywood or even Century City you might find deals in these safe areas (however, in WH don't consider properties on Santa Monica Blvd., they're all dumps).

I am thinking about a Crown Plaza in Beverly Hills. Its a little pricey but we need to be safe. Thank you for your help.

I would think twice about the Crowne Plaza. We stayed there a couple years ago and were disappointed. It's really on the very very very fringes of BH and the small pool is right by a busy street. Rooms were blah and kind of dark. We'll be at the Hollywood Renaissance in January--am looking forward to staying there since I've heard so many good things about the hotel. I do know (from our last trip) that it's right by the Hollywood and Highlands shopping/restaurant area--your daughter would love that (if she's like my daughter

The Crowne Plaza is a pretty good location. I think you're overly worried-- although Hollywood is a bit rough around the edges, Beverly Hills and West Hollywood are pretty high-class towns. Your family will be quite safe there. People LIVE there, after all. In very, very expensive houses.

I posted just after Tess-- and although Tripadvisor reviews for the CP BH are pretty good, I'd take her view into consideration. Maybe some of the hotels around the Beverly Center...?
